New Delhi, Fourteen women and a child were killed when a tractor trolley in which they were travelling fell into a canal in India's southern state of Telangana on Sunday.
The driver lost control of the vehicle while attempting to avoid a collision with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction, causing it to fall into the canal, dpa quoted local police officer Idris Ali as saying.
The accident occurred in the Yadadri district, 60 kilometers east of state capital Hyderabad.
"The passengers on the tractor trolley were women farm workers and most of them including a woman and her young son died on the scene. Ten more who were injured in the accident have been hospitalized," Ali said.
