BAGHDAD, The National Wisdom Movement (NWM) confirmed that negotiations to form the new government will be delayed for more than three months, may be resolved by the end of this year.
"The joint meeting of the President of the Republic with the leaders of the political blocs recently came out by agreement of all parties on the need to calm the situation until the formation of the new government," a member of the political body of the (NWM) Raad al-Haidari said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency.
He added that "the current differences and the crisis of popular demonstrations will effect the negotiations to form a government, which will be delayed for more than three months or perhaps up to the end of this year," noting that "the current dialogues are focused on the texts of the program document and government requirements, and choosing prime minister or forming an emergency government for the next phase is not on the agenda of political meetings now. "
The meeting of President Fuad Masum with the political blocs last Wednesday, ended with the approval of the entities and political blocs to accept the final results of the elections of the House of Representatives if it was officially approved by the Federal Court, with the commitment of all parliamentary blocs to respect the constitutional timing of the date of the first parliamentary session.
