Abdul Mahdi confirms Iraq’s readiness to provide necessary support to Kuwait and Jordan to face the floods

BAGHDAD, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi affirmed Iraq's readiness to send aid and teams to provide necessary support to Kuwait and Jordan to face the floods.

The Prime Minister's Office said in a press statement that "Abdul Mahdi is following with concern and regret the devastating floods that hit the neighboring countries of Kuwait and Jordan, caused by heavy rain, causing a number of deaths and injuries and destruction of property."

" Abdul Mahdi expressed the solidarity of the Iraqi government and people with the families of the victims and the Jordanian and Kuwaiti brotherly peoples and their condolences to them and their wish for the speedy recovery of the wounded".

He noted that "the Iraqi government is ready to send logistical assistance and medical teams, engineering and civil defense and provide the necessary support in an effort to alleviate the suffering of brothers and save lives and reduce the damage resulting," pointing to "the move of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry and the province of Basra in this direction."
