He said that the holding of the forum under the auspices of the President of the Republic, is a sign on the commitment of the presidential tenure to development and the launch of large-scale projects and socio-economic growth, coupling with political and security action and the politics of communication, interaction and dialogue.

Abi Khalil said that the first pillar of today's conference, which addresses the role of digital technology in expanding investment horizons in the field of sustainable energy, must be based on the principle of total transparency regarding government decisions, policies and measures in all departments and institutions.

The Minister said that the holding of the Beirut Energy Forum aims to bring together researchers, innovators, service providers and beneficiaries in the fields of digital information technology, as well as politicians, economic experts and decision-makers, to create modern methods to help build long-term strategies.

The Minister also brought to attention that the public sector, through its partnership with the private sector in the energy sector, succeeded to raise Lebanon to the level of developed countries in their path towards sustainable development.

"Today's Forum is a golden opportunity to launch our integrated policy on the energy sector, based on three axes: to provide advanced and reliable services in the electricity sector, proceed with offshore and land oil and gas extraction and benefit from natural resources for renewable energy in Lebanon," concluded Abi Khalil.
