Al-Abadi discusses with the British Ambassador bilateral relations and his country’s contribution to the country’s reconstruction

Baghdad  Head of Al-Nasr coalition Haider al-Abadi discussed with British Ambassador Stephen Hickey the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, the political, security and economic situations, the challenges the country is going through, and British contribution to the reconstruction of Iraq.

Al-Abadi stressed, according to a statement by the coalition, that “Iraq faced an existential challenge by occupying large areas of its lands by ISIS terrorist gangs, but it has defeated terrorism, and it is very important to preserve the achievement achieved, as well as the many reforms that took place then in all sectors.

Al-Abadi added, “the country is currently facing many difficulties that require more efforts and support to overcome them.”

For his part, the British Ambassador congratulated Al-Abadi on the anniversary of the victory over terrorism. He asserted, “the whole world was watching the great victories that the Iraqis achieved in your era,” praising Al-Abadi’s leadership of a difficult stage in Iraq’s history.
