Riyadh, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, received at his office in Riyadh today visiting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Christodoulides.
During the meeting, they reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Cyprus and ways of enhancing them in all fields in what serves the aspirations of the two countries' friendly peoples.
Following the meeting, Al-Jubeir welcomed the Cyprus chief diplomat in his first visit to the Kingdom as foreign minister of his country.
He confirmed that the Kingdom appreciates the positions of the Republic of Cyprus towards the Arab and region's issues, citing Lebanon, Syria, the interference of Iran in the affairs of the region's countries in addition to Cyprus support for the legitimate government in Yemen and its support for Egypt until it overpassed the crisis.
For his part, the Cyprus minister lauded the distinguished ties binding his country and the Kingdom, announcing that Cyprus would soon open its Embassy in the Kingdom while the Kingdom opens its embassy in Cyprus.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Adel bin Siraj Mirdad, undersecretary of the ministry for political and economic affairs. Saud Kateb, undersecretary of the ministry for diplomatic affairs; and Mean Al-Hafez, Director General of the European Countries General Administration at the ministry.
