Al-Sadr Calls On Russia To Play An Active Role In Humanitarian And Service Sectors, Especially In The Displaced In The Liberated Areas

BAGHDAD, The leader of the Sadr movement, Moqtada al-Sadr called on Russia to have an active role in the humanitarian and service sides, especially in the file of displaced persons in liberated areas.

A statement issued by his media office said that Sadr received on Tuesday the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq Maxime Maximov at his headquarters in Hannanah, Najaf province, where the Russian ambassador congratulated al-Sadr on the parliamentary elections and the victory of the Sa'iroon National Alliance. During the meeting, they discussed the relations between the two countries and the two friendly peoples Iraqi and Russian in various fields and means of upgrading them to serve the common interests, and discussed the internal and regional situation.
