Amb. Al-Hain hails distinguished ties between Kuwait, WHO

Kuwait’s Permanent Representative to the UN and other international organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hain hailed the distinguished ties between Kuwait and the World Health Organization (WHO).

This came in remarks to KUNA Monday on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly.

Al-Hain also noted that this year’s meeting holds great importance as it coincides with WHO’s Diamond Jubilee (75th anniversary) and the 60th anniversary of Kuwait’s membership at the UN.

Furthermore, Al-Hain noted that these two occasions are a reminder of the distinguished relations between Kuwait and the organization, as well as other international organizations.

He explained that the cooperation between Kuwait and the World Health Organization is based on two pillars, the first deals with health affairs in the country, as it is reinforced by a partnership between the two sides, while the second one is related to cooperation in regional and international files.

Al-Hain noted Kuwait’s keenness to support the draft resolution presented before the World Health Assembly regarding the health situation in the Arab lands occupied by Israel, including East Jerusalem and the Syrian Golan, due to what the Palestinians are going through at the hands of the Israeli occupation authorities.
