Aoun meets French Ambassador over CEDRE outcome

President Michel Aoun on Monday met with French Ambassador in Beirut, Bruno Foucher, with whom he discussed the outcome of CEDRE and the mechanism of follow-up on Lebanon's agreements with the states and organizations that took part in this Paris conference.

The pair also dwelt on an array of fresh developments in Lebanon and the broader Arab region, in addition to the looming legislative elections.

During the meeting, Foucher said CEDRE was a "success," hailing "the Lebanese states' determination" to carry out reforms.

He also informed the President that French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian "intends to visit Lebanon after the legislative elections, to follow up on the situation in the country, and to hold talks with the Lebanese officials over the bilateral relations and the means to bolster them in all fields."

Moreover, the diplomat indicated that the date of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Lebanon was yet to be determined.

Separately, Aoun received a cable from President of Yemen Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, who expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of the International Red Cross employee, Hannah Lahoud.
