Aswad on President’s share in government: Return to square one not an option

MP Ziad Aswad said in an interview with the Voice of Lebanon - 93.3 radio station that "the debate over the president's share in the government dates several years back and is related to the role, effectiveness and powers of the president at the cabinet table," pointing out that "the country has suffered from the inability of the President to exercise his authority and powers," and deemed the "return to square one not an option."

"It is not permissible to tamper with the powers of the president of the republic and his ability to exercise his authority at the cabinet table. President Michel Aoun is working to restore balance and partnership between the different parties," he stressed.
