Baghdad The Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammed Bagheri, confirmed today, Sunday, that a document on military cooperation between Iran and Iraq will be signed soon.
After receiving the Minister of Defense, Jumah Inad Saadoun, according to Iranian media, Bagheri indicated, according to the Iranian media, the wide relations and common historical commonalities between the two countries, adding that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, as two neighboring and brotherly countries, have long-term relations and interests, as much has been talked about this matter during previous visits. ”
He continued, “the Minister of Defense, leaders of the navy, air forces, air defense and some other Iraqi leaders visited Iran and ways to strengthen and deepen defense and military cooperation were discussed.”
Bagheri referred to the program of the high-level Iraqi military delegation during its visit to Iran, saying: “our friends will visit the defense industries exhibition and hold meetings with their counterparts in the Iranian armed forces.”
He added, “during this meeting, issues related to the defense industry, common border security between the two countries, issues related to cooperation and exchange of experiences, joint military exercises and training issues were discussed, and this cooperation will be developed, by God willing,” he added.
Defense Minister Jumah Inad arrived at the head of a high-ranking military delegation to Tehran on Saturday at the official invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Brigadier General Amir Hatami. ”
