Bahrain Ambassador to Italy meets FAO officials

Bahrain’s Ambassador to Italy Dr. Nasser Mohammed Al-Blushi met virtually with the Deputy Director of Land and Water Division at the UN Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO), Sasha Koo-Oshima, the Senior Aquaculture and Fisheries Officer at FAO Sub-Regional Office, Lionel Dabbadie, and the Right to Food Team Leader, Juan Carlos García, as well as the FAO Subregional Coordinator and FAO Representative in the UAE, Dr. Dino Francescutti Motis, and Hoda Al Sahi in the same organization.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Balushi stressed that achieving food security is one of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s priorities, praising the FAO efforts and its good endeavors to achieve this, as well as its relentless endeavor to eradicate hunger, malnutrition, and poverty in the world.

He also noted the importance of the existing cooperation between Bahrain and the FAO regarding the development of the food and agricultural sector, specifically in four vital areas in the Kingdom, including food security strategy, livestock, fishing and breeding, and statistics.
