Arab Parliament Speaker, Adel Abdulrahman Al-Asoomi, has affirmed that promoting dialogue and peaceful co-existence among cultures and religions is the basis of global peace.
He stressed the need for complementarity among a religious discourse that rejects violence and extremist ideology, an educational system that establishes a culture of tolerance and acceptance of the other, and a civilised media message that inspires solidarity and cohesion, in addition to a coherent legislative system that criminalises intolerance and racism.
The AP Speaker said that Bahrain is an oasis of peaceful coexistence thanks to the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who has been keen to make Bahrain a pioneering model for peaceful coexistence and dialogue among all cultures and religions.
Al-Asoomi praised the kingdom’s hosting of the 146th IPU Assembly, commending the great role played by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to translate the enlightened royal visions into policies and programmes.
