Bahrain attends UNWTO meeting

Sharm El-Sheikh, The World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Committee held its 44th meeting in the Sharm El-Sheikh resort in Egypt.

Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al-Khalifa led the Kingdom's delegation to the meeting.

The agenda included a report submitted by the secretary general on regional and international tourism trends, the 2017-2018 work plan and activities, in addition to the administrative and financial report and the committees' reports.

Bahrain is an active member of the UNWTO) committee for the Middle East and member of the executive committee for the 22nd and 23rd terms (2018-2021).

BTRA Chief held talks with the official delegations taking part in the meeting and discussed the outlook of the tourism industry, considering current challenges.

The World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Committee also held its regional conference and discussed human assets in the tourism sector.
