Manama: Assistant Undersecretary for Community Development at the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Khalid Abdulrahman Al Kooheji led the Bahraini delegation in the 24th meeting of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development, the 16th meeting of the Follow-up Committee to Stop Violence Against Children and the 10th session of the Arab Family Committee as part of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States meetings.
Al Kooheji said the meetings are held under exceptional circumstances, which had an impact on children and the family.
Among the topics discussed in the 24th session were the implications of the Covid-19 pandemic on children and protecting them from the means of communication and technology.
The 16th meeting reviewed cooperation with international entities related to the field of childcare while the 10th session reviewed to develop the Arab family as well as the Arab strategy to reduce family violence.
The acting undersecretary highlighted Bahrain’s achievements in the field of child rights care and its initiatives regionally and internationally for the protection of children, including the government providing the best standards of health and educational services to ensure that children are raised in a healthy and well-balanced environment.
