Bahrain participates in UN celebration of International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace

Within the framework of the celebrations of the United Nations Office in Geneva to mark 100 years of multilateralism, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organizations, Ambassador Dr. Yusuf Abdulkarim Bucheeri, has visited along with a number of ambassadors and permanent representatives the UN Library and Archives at the Palais des Nations.

He was there to sign the giant poster which displays some rare and historical photos which shall remain engraved in the memory of the future organization and reflect the great success stories of multilateral diplomacy achieved over the past century.

A special book was issued to document this event and some 100 photographs that represent high diplomatic value were on display to immortalize different times and stages and chronicle milestone events, record and archives.

The collection of photos was chosen to symbolize the path of continuity and cracks that characterized the development of multilateral cooperation in Geneva since the League of Nations was founded in 1920 to the role of the United Nations to this day.

It should be noted that this photo album, which is on display in the Library of the Palais des Nations in Geneva for a period of three months, provides a broad understanding of the covered activities, the role of the various actors involved, and the efforts made daily to provide multilateral responses to global challenges.

The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain who was presented with a copy of the book containing these photos, signed, on behalf of the Kingdom of Bahrain the giant poster entitled “We the peoples of the United Nations.”
