Foreign Minister Chief of Arab Affairs Ahmed Mohammed Al Tarifi, took part today in an event marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

The event was organized by the United Nations office in Bahrain, in cooperation with the Palestinian Embassy at the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Al Tarifi delivered a speech in which he stated that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, reaffirmed its full solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people.

He underlined the importance of upholding peace as a strategic option, explaining that a just and lasting peace in the Middle East can only be achieved by ending the Israeli occupation of all Arab lands occupied in 1967, and the return of Palestinian refugees to their lands with compensation, as stipulated by United Nations General Assembly Resolution No. 194 of 1948. He also stressed the need to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict in accordance with international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, including Security Council Resolutions 242 of 1967, 338 of 1973, 1397 of 2002 and 1515 of 2003 regarding The two-state solution.
