Manama, Bahrain's national handball team will head tomorrow Wednesday, to Kuwait to take part in the 19th Asian Championship.
The championship which opens on Thursday (January16) and runs until January 27, is qualifier to the World Handball Cup which will be held in Egypt in 2021.
The 19-member team includes players Hussein Alsayyad, Mohammed Abdul Hussein, Jassim Al-Salatna, Mohammed Mirza, Mohammed Habib, Ali Mirza, Mohammed Abdulridha, Hassan Al-Samaheeji, Ahmed Al-Maqabi, Mahdi Saad, Hassan Shehab, Ali Eid, Bilal Basham, Hussein Mahfoudh, Abdulla Ali, Ahmed Jalal, Mahmoud Hussein, Mohammed Habeeb Nasser and Abdulla Zaimur.
The delegation also includes Bahrain Handball Association Chairman Ali Isa Ishaqi, board member Ismail Baqer, administrator Ahmed Al-Najim, national coach Aron Kristjansson, assistant coach Ahmed Mansour and other staff.
Bahrain will make its debut on Thursday taking on Iceland as part of Group A which includes also Iran. Thirteen Asian teams are in three competing to book one of four sports in the World Hanball Cup in Egypt in 2021.
