Caretaker Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil, on Monday presented Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi with an invitation to attend the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, which will take place in Beirut in January.
Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shukri, attended the meeting between Bassil and al-Sisi.
Bassil indicated that al-Sisi had expressed readiness to support Lebanon before the international instances, and to coordinate at the political and economic levels.
He added that the Egyptian President had highlighted the necessity of strong and efficient constitutional institutional in Lebanon to face threats.
"He [al-Sisi] considered that Lebanon represents a unique model of coexistence that must be preserved," Bassil said.
