Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, on Thursday met at Ain el-Tineh residence with former Prime Minister, Fouad Siniora, with whom he tackled the current situation.
On emerging, Siniora stressed the dire need for a swift government formation and boosting confidence between the State and citizens and between Lebanon and the international community.
Siniora also highlighted the dire need for creating a positive shock in Lebanon leading the way for longstanding genuine reforms. Siniora also urged respect for the Taef Accord, Constitution and laws.
He also called for respecting the Lebanese State's rights concerning its full control over all its facilities, and abiding by the standards of competence and professionalism in assuming responsibilities in the Lebanese State.
Siniora also relayed Speaker Berri's sheer keenness on respecting constitutional provisions.
On the other hand, Berri met with the new Lebanon's Ambassador to the Vatican, former MP Fardi Elias al-Khazen.
This afternoon, Berri welcomed a delegation of the army command, headed by Brigadier General Rifaat Ramadan, who extended to him an invitation to attend the ceremony to confer swords upon "Fajr Jouroud" regiment officers, which will be held on August 1 on the occasion of Army Day.
