Manama, Bahrain Journalist Association (BJA) is hosting a reception for its members to mark the National Action Charter, the national document that laid the foundations for Bahrain's comprehensive modern renaissance.
The members will sign a book that BJA will present to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, as the Kingdom celebrates the anniversary of the plebiscite after 98.4 per cent of the citizens endorsed the Charter.
The idea of the book on the auspicious occasion is another expression of gratitude by journalists in Bahrain to the leader of the comprehensive development, AJA President Ahdeya Ahmed said.
It is also a tribute to the accomplishments and gains achieved by the press and media in the Kingdom during the rule of HM the King.
The book features expressions by journalists to HM the King for his great support to the media, she added.
Freedom of expression has impressively increased and our colleagues have been exercising their work with greater credibility thanks to this support. We are grateful and we want to express our appreciation and to stress that we will keep moving forward and build on the achievements accomplished during the rule, she said.
A large number of journalists and special guests are expected at the event to be held at the AJA premises on Thursday between 6 and 9 pm, Ahdeya said.
