Campaign encouraging workers to take booster shots underway

The Ministry of Labour and Social Development Ministry is stepping up efforts to ensure commitment to precautionary measures against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at different work sites and labour camps countrywide.

The Inspection and Professional Safety Directorate is conducting the four-week drive to encourage workers to take the booster shots that protect them against the pandemic and its variants.

The first phase of the campaign has covered 27, 340 trading outlets, 8, 277 industrial establishments and 6,695 construction firms across the Kingdom of Bahrain. The campaign will be expanded to cover the other production sectors.

The ministry urged employers to be vigilant during this period, amid the outbreak of a new variant (Omicron variant), and take all pre-emptive precautionary measures at worksites and labour camps.

The Inspection and Professional Safety Directorate is distributing multilingual leaflets featuring safety guidelines to be followed at worksites and labour camps.
