Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed the values of peaceful coexistence and tolerance characterizing the Bahraini people throughout history. He affirmed that those attributes have become one of the invariables shaping the national identity thanks to the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for an all-inclusive nation.
The Deputy Prime Minister asserted keenness of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to foster religious freedom, which turned Bahrain into an oasis of peace and security.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa was speaking as he received in his office at Gudaibiya Palace today His Grace Bishop Julius, Bishop of Public Services and Ancient Egypt, General Supervisor of Churches of the Arab Gulf States, on the occasion of his visit to Bahrain.
The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed him, commending the efforts of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, to promote peace and tolerance.
His Grace Bishop Julius praised the care accorded by the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Coptic Orthodox group, lauding the kingdom’s civilisational heritage which is based on respect of religions and cultures, tolerance and acceptance of the other.
