BAGHDAD, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan al-Kaabi on Sunday called on the Arab Republic of Egypt to facilitate the granting of visas to Iraqis.
"The delegation of the House of Representatives participating in the meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) met with the Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament Ali Abdel-Aal and his accompanying delegation on the sidelines of participation in the meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union currently in Geneva, Switzerland," the statement said.
Al-Kaabi affirmed during the meeting "Iraq's full support to the Egyptian investment companies and contribute to the reconstruction and activate trade and economic exchange between the two brotherly countries."
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral issues of importance and ways of activating the friendship committees between the two sides.
For his part, the Egyptian Parliament Speaker praised the efforts of the Iraqi security forces to eliminate the hotbeds of terrorism and their role in achieving community peace and security in Iraq and the region, adding that the peace we are living depends on the stability and unity of Iraq.
