Environment Ministry Bans Importing Bovine Species From Georgia

Riyadh, The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture imposed a temporary ban on the importation of Bovine Species animals from the State of Georgia due to the dermatological dermatitis disease and to reduce the risk of this disease to livestock and public health in the Kingdom.

The Director General of the Department of Animal Risk Assessment at the Ministry, Dr. Sanad Al-Harbi, said that the ministry imposed the ban after considering the warning bulletin issued by the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), which reported the incidence of dermatitis.

For his part, Director-General of the Ministry of Public Works Department Dr. Osama Al-Saleh noted that the ban has been circulated to quarries for applying all precautionary measures.
