Foreign Minister: President Al-Sisi’s visit to strengthen Bahrain’s strategic partnership with Egypt

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, welcomes the visit of Egyptain President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, noting that the visits would advance the historical brotherly relations and the strong and growing strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs added that the Bahraini-Egyptian summit opens broader prospects for strengthening bilateral political and economic cooperation and coordination, affirming the solid positions of both countries on regional and international issues, within the framework of their commitment to safeguarding Arab national security, rejecting foreign interference in Arab internal affairs, and supporting a just and comprehensive peace in the region, and the establishment of the values of tolerance and coexistence among religions, cultures and civilisations.

He noted the keenness of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to activate the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed with Egypt in various fields, in order to achieve the common interests of both countries and the two brotherly peoples in activating trade, tourism, investment, protecting the environment and supporting the process comprehensive and sustainable development.

The Minister also affirmed Bahrain’s support for all the legitimate measures taken by Egypt to protect its security and stability and enhance its development process, while affirming at the same time its pride in Egypt’s stances in support of its security and stability, the security and Arab identity of the Gulf, and its historical sacrifices in order to support just Arab and Islamic rights.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Bahraini-Egyptian relations, with the support of His Majesty the King, and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, are moving towards more close strategic alliance and constructive cooperation for the sake of the two brotherly peoples and the Arab nation as a whole, reinforced by its prosperity and distinction throughout history as a role model in Arab unity and cohesion between brothers, according to a unified and sustainable vision stemming from the depth of religious, cultural, social and civilizational ties, unity of purpose and a common destiny.
