Foreign Ministry: Lebanon’s Embassy in Nigeria is following up on the circumstances that led to the killing of Bassam alKhodari

In an issued statement this evening, the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants stated that "pursuant to the instructions of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister Gebran Bassil, the Lebanese Embassy in Abuja is following-up on the circumstances of the murder that claimed the life of Bassam Amin al-Khodari after he was robbed in his apartment in Lagos on Monday evening."

The Embassy confirmed "ongoing coordination with the family of the deceased in Lebanon and his friends in Lagos, to ensure the transfer of his body to Beirut the soonest possible to complete the burial ceremony, pending the end of investigations by the Nigerian security authorities to arrest and prosecute the perpetrators."
