BAGHDAD, Former Speaker of Parliament Salim al-Jubouri stressed Iraq's quest to form a government capable of providing services to citizens.
A statement from his press office said, "Jubouri received, this morning in his office in Baghdad, Australian Ambassador to Iraq Joanne Loundes.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing communication and cooperation in order to achieve common interests.
Al-Jubouri appreciated Australia's role in supporting Iraq during its war against terrorism, stressing that "Iraq is seeking, in the coming period, to form a strong government capable of facing challenges, providing services to citizens and improving the living conditions for them and improving economic and developmental conditions."
