The Future Parliamentary Bloc held its meeting this Tuesday afternoon under the chairmanship of MP Bahia Hariri, with talks touching on the latest developments, and special focus on "the Cabinet's continuous work, day and night, to finalize the budget. We hope the latter will live up to the level of the financial and economic challenges facing Lebanon."
She pointed out that "the government is called upon to resolve the existing polarization inside and outside the cabinet," hoping it will "finalize the budget and refer it to the House of Representatives so that it is ready to be put into effect as soon as possible."
The bloc expressed its "satisfaction with the results of the discussions at the Council of Ministers, especially in terms of announcing the measures and policies aimed at reducing budget deficit and closing waste doors in various ministries, and the importance of assigning the army and security forces to control the illegal crossings and prevent smuggling."
On the other hand, the bloc stressed that "the State's recovery of its capabilities, authority and prestige is a goal that should be pursued without delay, so as to achieve the State of citizenship and institutions away from quotas, favoritism, sectarian tensions and sensitivities."
