Government Hospitals discuss SMC development plans

Plans to develop healthcare services and promote human resources at Government-run hospitals came under the spotlight.

The Government Hospitals board of trustees discussed development plans, including private clinics at Salmaniya Medical Complex, genetic diseases the Sports Clinic at the Ibrahim Khalil Centre.

Board of Trustees’ Chairman Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa presided over the meeting at SMC, in the presence of Government Hospitals Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari.

Shakh Hesham praised the royal care accorded by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to further develop the health sector and enhance the standard of services.

The panel also reviewed the accreditation of the Salmaniya Medical Complex, by the National Health Regulatory Authority and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards International (ACHSI), which contributes to raising the quality and efficiency of health services.
