The President of the Council of Ministers Saad Hariri received today at the "Center House" a delegation from the town of Kalamoun, headed by the President of the Municipality Talal Dankar, in the presence of the sister of the Lebanese citizen detained in Iran Nizar Zakka, Maha Zakka.
After the meeting, Dankar said: "We discussed with Prime Minister Hariri the case of the son of Kalamoun Nizar Zakka, who has been detained for more than two and a half years and is suffering from a difficult and unclear health situation. What we heard from Premier Hariri assured us regarding his detailed follow up of this issue. He told us he will inform us soon about the latest developments in this case and we hoped that this file would end with his safe return."
For her part, Zakka said: "We learned that Nizar suffers from difficult health conditions, so we are afraid that his health will deteriorate and that he will return to us dead. We are asking the state to fulfill its duties towards this citizen who went to Iran on an official invitation to participate in a conference, and was kidnapped and we lost contact with him. Even the Lebanese ambassador in Iran does not communicate with him. Even the Lebanese ambassador to Iran is not in contact with him. President Aoun and Premier Hariri understand the situation and we ask for their help on all levels for the safe return of Nizar from Iran."
Hariri also received the candidate for the post of Secretary-General of the Arab Women Organization, Fadia Kiwan, in the presence of the Prime Minister's Adviser for Women Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for Lebanese Women, Abir Chbaro.
After the meeting Kiwan said: "I informed Premier Hariri that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officially presented my candidacy for the post of Secretary General of the Arab Women Organization. We also discussed the situation of women in Lebanon and the coordination between the Ministry of Women Affairs and the National Commission for Lebanese Women."
Earlier, Hariri received Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi.
