Vice Prime Minister, Ghassan Hasbani, on Monday received the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jan kubis, with whom he discussed the current situation in Lebanon and the broad region.
Discussions also reportedly touched on the current economic and monetary situation in Lebanon, as well as the major repercussions that may arise if conditions worsen further.
Kubis briefed Hasbani on the broad outlines and debates of the recent UN General Assembly session and current international compass reading.
Hasbani gave an overview of the current actions undertaken by the government, namely in terms of discussions on urgent reforms and the need for rapid and immediate structural reforms, simultaneously with the ongoing work for the approval of the state budget, and practical measures to halt smuggling and squandering via legal and illegal crossings.
