First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today received a cable of congratulations from the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, following the issuance of a Decree by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, appointing him as Board of Directors Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA).
She pointed out that HH Shaikh Khalid’s chairmanship of GSA will contribute to developing the sports system in the kingdom, thanks to the care of HM the King, and keenness of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to develop the sports sector according to a modern vision, in addition to the continuous efforts made by HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the SCYS, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to support the sports movement in the kingdom through well-thought-out development plans and strategies aimed at implementing the royal vision on developing sports in Bahrain.
The speaker underlined the parliamentary support for and cooperation with GSA in order to be able to achieve the aspirations of Bahraini athletes.
The speaker also extended congratulations to the Deputy Chairman of GSA, His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, GSA board members and Chief Executive Officer for the precious royal trust bestowed upon them.
