Manama, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee has called for increasing the pace of work to complete installing solar energy systems in sports facilities.
The use of clean energy in sports facilities achieves multiple goals and it is in line with Bahrain’s commitment to environmental goals, he said.
It also enables sports officials to better use resources to manage the facilities in a more successful and effective manner, HH Shaikh Khalid said as he received Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) President Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed.
The meeting also discussed ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the General Sports Authority and the EWA as well as ways to provide technical support for sports programs and events.
