Manama: Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani headed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s delegation at the 47th meeting of the Industrial Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The virtual meeting was attended by GCC Secretary General Dr. Nayef bin Falah Al-Hajraf and the Industry Ministers in the GCC countries.
Participants in the meeting from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in Bahrain were Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs and Acting Undersecretary for Industrial Affairs Imen Ahmed Al Dousari, Assistant Undersecretary for Industrial Development Abdulkarim Ahmed Al Rashid, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development Director Shaikha Abdullah Al Fadhel and Head of the Industrial Relations and Support Department Eng. Sawsan Ahmed Al Hammadi.
The committee cast light on a number of issues that are consistent with the main goals of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the unified economic agreement which seeks to achieve economic integration among the member states. The attendees underlined the key role played by the Gulf industries in the economies of the member states. They also spotlighted other issues including the committee’s future plans after the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the fourth industrial revolution.
