Information Minister: BIPD to continue implementing royal directives

Manama, Information Affairs Minister and Board of Trustees Chairman of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), Ali bin Mohammed Al-Romaihi, chaired the regular meeting of BIPD Board of Trustees remotely, with the participation of members and Executive Director.

Al-Romaihi extended, on behalf of the members oof BIPD’s Board of Trustees and executive management, deepest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Eid Al-Adha, wishing them and the Bahraini people many happy returns of the occasion.

The panel reviewed the programmes and events implemented by BIPD over the past period, which contributed to raising political awareness among the citizens, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution and the National Action Charter. It also provided support for parliamentary and municipal work in the kingdom, in line with HM the King’s comprehensive development process, and commensurate with the goals set in the royal decree establishing BIPD.

During the first half of this year, BIPD implemented as many as 51 events, including programmes, seminars, workshops and lectures, benefiting 5,350 participants, including 3,305 from awareness programmes and 2,045 ifrom training programmes, the board was told.

BIPD also published a number of specialised legal, political and documentation studies during the same period, as part of its efforts to spread political awareness and culture among the targeted groups, in addition to its keenness to encourage academics and researchers to contribute to educational events and activities that benefit the members of society.

Then, the panel reviewed BIPD’s future action plan, and the programmes and events to be implemented later this year.

Al-Romaihi stressed the pivotal role played by BIPD to raise political awareness, highlight the comprehensive development march and foster the values of loyalty, belonging to the nation and citizenship among all social segments, confirming its great impact on the Bahraini society, citing BIPD’s effective contributions to preparing political and parliamentary competencies, as well as national youth cadres, in addition to its keenness to enhance cooperation with various national institutions, particularly the bicameral National Assembly, municipal councils, among others.

Al-Romaihi pledged that BIPD will continue implementing its national mission, in line with the directives of HM King Hamad, in a way that serves all Bahrainis.
