The Ministry of Information mourned Saeed Abdullah Al Hamad, a prominent journalist, columnist and radio and TV presenter.
Al Hamad, 74, passed on Tuesday after decades of media commitments in newspapers, radio and television.
The media in Bahrain, the Arabian Gulf and the Arab world has lost a prominent and iconic figure, the ministry said.
Al Hamad was among the pioneers on Bahrain Radio and he produced and presented a series of programs. He also had a daily column in Al Ayam daily and later became the opinion editor of Al Ayam. He appeared in several TV programs.
Al Hamad won several national and regional recognitions for his work across the print and audio-visual media.
