Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, chaired here today the Ministerial Committee for Information Technology and Communication meeting.
The Interior Minister asserted the importance of reinforcing efforts to develop government information technology services as part of the comprehensive development process. He continued that the development comes as part of the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He highlighted the continuation of adopting initiatives to enhance government services, valuing the cooperation and coordination between the Information and e-Government Authority and all ministries and government organisations.
The meeting approved the minutes of the previous meeting and reviewed various topics, including the national human resources development programme for the IT sector and introducing an organisational entity for technological development.
The committee was briefed on the outcomes of the government performance workshop and digital transformation held as part of government’s future priorities workshops. These events were part of the directives of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The committee decided to refer the workshop’s recommendations to the final workshop that will be held later.
The Interior Minister asserted that the government performance development is a continuous process that is periodically reviewed to ensure ongoing development.
He thanked the committee members for their dedication to developing government services for all citizens and residents.
