Iraq and Jordan agree to form a joint committee at the level of Undersecretary of the Ministry to strengthen bilateral relations

BAGHDAD Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman al-Safadi agreed to form a joint committee at the level of Undersecretary of Foreign Ministry to promote bilateral relations.

"The two sides discussed the relations between Baghdad and Amman, and upgraded them to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples. They also agreed on the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of security, border protection, the promotion of trade and the facilitation of the granting of visas to expatriates from both countries.

After the talks, the two sides made statements to the media.

"We discussed bilateral cooperation in the areas of energy, electricity connectivity and the contribution of Jordanian companies to the reconstruction of Iraq," he said.

He expressed his optimism in the development of bilateral relations to a wider horizons to serve the aspirations of the two countries.

For his part, Ayman Safadi stressed his country's stand on the side of Iraq in the face of terrorism, and contribute to the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the liberated areas from the terrorist gangs.

He outlined that the king asked me to convey a message, in which he stressed supporting Iraq in all fields, confirming that Iraq is an important pillar for the stability of the region and the world.
