Baghdad, The Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Erbil Omar al-Kandari expressed his country's sympathy with the Yazidis for the killing and annihilation by the militants of Daesh organization during the invasion of their areas in 2014.
"The Yazidi community is dear to us whether in Iraq or in the Arab world and they have many contributions in all fields," Kandari said during his visit to Amir of Yazidis on the occasion of the Yazidi New Year festival, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)
"The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, had received the Yazidi survivor from the hands of Daesh militants Nadia Murad in 2016.
He continued: "Nadia Murad was the best ambassador to the Yazidis to explain the suffering of what they went through the tragedy by Daesh, which was the subject of condemnation and denunciation of the State of Kuwait and the people."
He pointed out that the Kuwaiti consulate in the Kurdistan region tried as much as possible to communicate with the Yazidis "where we have provided assistance to the displaced Yazidis in all provinces of the region."
