Baghdad, The Joint Operations Command announced the launch of large-scale operations to chase back the remnants of Daesh towards the border with Syria.

The Spokesman for the Command Brigadier Yehia Rasool said in a statement that the security operations of great quality launched in the desert, linking the provinces of Salah al-Din, Nineveh and Anbar towards the Syrian-Iraqi border," asserting that the "operations supported by the intelligence effort and Iraqi aviation."

He pointed out that "the Iraqi-Syrian border was fully secured, and the process of conducting the fortifications are going on, as well as the Iraqi-Turkish border was captured by the border forces and forces of the army."
