Minister of Interior and Municipalities Nuhad Mashnouk, presided over two security meetings in both Sidon and Nabatiyeh, whereby he stressed that “there is no fear of security actions that may prevent the holding of parliamentary elections.”
“The image of the State is improving in the eyes of the world. As we were praised for transparency in the municipal elections, we will be praised even more after the parliamentary elections,” he pledged.
“We are looking to achieve fair and transparent elections,” the minister maintained.
As for the security developments in Syria and their possible repercussions on Lebanon, Mashnouk stressed that “the court is now Syria, not Lebanon.”
