Media exhibition highlights significance of Gulf Radio and Television Festival

Director-General of Verdicts Implementation and Alternative Penalties, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, has received Deputy Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Bahrain, Stuart Summers, and his accompanying delegation.

He welcomed the diplomats and highlighted efforts to implement the penal code law and the alternative penalties, noting that the directorate would commence the open prison programme within the coming days.

The meeting reviewed cooperation and coordination in alternative penalties, open prisons, training and exchange of expertise.

The Director-General said that the alternative penalties system is a national project that promotes human rights in Bahrain.
