Mehdi Al-Alak discusses with the delegation of the Swedish Development Agency the draft of the federal support and financial decentralization project

The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mahdi Al-Alak, discussed with the Development Development Organization (SIDA) consultant Gunar Anderson, a draft proposal proposed by the Swedish Agency to support federalism and financial decentralization in local governments in Iraq, especially in Muthanna and Diwaniyah governorates.

He expressed Anderson "according to a statement of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the desire of the Swedish government to deepen the prospects of cooperation through the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the project in order to provide support for Iraq and to achieve tangible improvements and the process in the way of dealing officials, decision makers, organizations and institutions in the two provinces.

To that , the secretary importance of providing support in Capacity-building and expertise of local government units and upgrading their skills in decentralization to better design a system of local governance, inviting them to coordinate with stakeholders.
