BAGHDAD, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers Mahdi Al-Alaq stressed the Iraqi government's keenness to deal positively to respond urgently with the demands of protesters, and manifested through a package of procedures issued by the Prime Minister, most notably the formation of service and security committees and determine the needs of the provinces of services .
A statement issued by the General Secretariat said that Al-Aalaq met today with the head of the UN Mission in Iraq, Jan Kubic, and exchanged views on the upcoming government reforms and means of achieving economic development and progress to achieve stability in Iraq."
During the meeting, Al-Alaq called for participating in the National Economic Development Conference, which will be held in Baghdad in mid-August and will witness the participation of major economic countries.
For his part, Kubic pointed out that "the need to accelerate the formation of a new national government, comprehensive and pro-reform and be able to meet the demands of citizens and respond to their aspirations to enhance economic performance and create employment opportunities and improve services and fight corruption and work towards finding long-term solutions."
