BAGHDAD, Minister of Water Resources Hassan al-Janabi said that the visit of the Iraqi delegation to Turkey headed by Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Tuesday was a success by all standards.
"The water relationship between the two countries was a key focus and there was an opportunity for bilateral meetings with the new Turkish Minister," al-Janabi said on his Facebook page.
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi visited Turkey on Tuesday and discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the cooperation between the two countries and a number of issues related to water, electricity, investments and other joint files.
During the visit, he met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and discussed bilateral cooperation, water, security, electricity, energy, economy, culture and the situation in the region.
Erdogan stressed during the meeting that "Iraq should receive its full share of water, in addition to the importance of relations between the two countries and strengthening and reconstruction of Iraq and Turkey's commitment to what was announced at the Kuwait conference.
