BAGHDAD The head of the Kurdistan Regional Government (NG), Nechirvan Barzani, expressed thanks and appreciation for the Italian humanitarian and military assistance to the Kurdistan in the framework of the coalition against the terrorist organization and in difficult circumstances.
Barzani during his meeting with Elisabetta Trenta, Italy's defense minister, according to a statement by the Kurdistan Regional Government, praised "the Italian prime minister in that period, who visited the Kurdistan region at the time, and thanked Italy for sending companies to restore the Mosul Dam and save Iraq from a major threat.
He also stressed the strengthening of relations between the Kurdistan region and Italy in all fields, expressing the readiness of the Kurdistan region to provide all kinds of cooperation and facilities in this area.
For her part, the Italian minister stressed, during the meeting, the continuation of her country to provide humanitarian and military assistance to the Kurdistan region, and to strengthen relations in all areas, and expressed thanks for the cooperation of the Government of the province and its concerned bodies and coordination with the Italian forces in the Kurdistan region and Dam Mosul, which is being repaired by Italian company.
During the meeting, according to the statement, "they discussed the political situation in Iraq and the formation of the new federal governments and the Kurdistan region."
