Nigeria beat Iceland to revive last 16 hopes

Nigeria's Super Eagles today bounced back from their opening-game defeat against Croatia and boosted their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, with a 2-0 win over Iceland in Volgograd.

After a goal-less first half, Ahmed Musa scored two goals at the 49th and 75th minutes.

The Nigerians are now second in Group D and their concluding group match against two-time world champions, Argentina, will be decisive.

Nigeria's win has revived last 16 hopes for Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland.
