NIHR Chief affirms NVTC’s role in training convicts

Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, today visited the Nasser Vocational Training Centre (NVTC), where he met its Director, Dr. Abdulla Nasser Al-Nuaimi, in the presence of NVTC’s Academic Director, Nabih Aziz, and Legal Advisor, Hassan Rashid Al-Nuaimi.

Al-Derazi was informed about the Centre’s educational and training programmes, as well as facilities.

The two sides discussed the effective role played by the NVTC to rehabilitate convicts who are eligible for alternative penalties in order to reintegrate them into society, and ensure that they contribute positively to the stability of the Bahraini society.

Al-Derazi indicated that his visit aims to enhance cooperation between the NIHR and the NVTC, stressing the Centre’s important role in rehabilitating convicts at reformation centres.
