Pope Tawadros II praises HM King’s commitment to peace, religious co-existence

Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese has praised the role of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in laying the foundations of peace, tolerance, love and rapprochement between religions.

Pope Tawadros II also stressed that Bahrain offers a unique model in upholding the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among all religions and races without discrimination or prejudice.

Receiving Bahrain's Ambassador to Egypt Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder, the pope commended the strong relations between Bahrain and Egypt and the Kingdom's leading stance in supporting Egypt's security and stability.

Relations between the two countries are deep-rooted and have been marked for decades by close cooperation and lasting cooperation, he added.

Al Jowder, who is also Bahrain's Representative to the Arab League, highlighted the depth of relations between Bahrain and Egypt, and the bonds of friendship between the Kingdom and the Egyptian Church in light of the high spirit of tolerance between Muslims and Christians.

The ambassador praised the national role of the Egyptian Church as an active and important component of the Egyptian state.
